July Sod Installation

We completed a sod installation last month. Here is how we did it.

Take a look at this yard before we started. The front yard has some green stuff growing, but not a healthy lawn. The backyard coverage is thin and spotty.

We start by taking up and removing all of the old growth. Top soil is added and the area is graded for a solid base on which to install the sod.

Next, we install the sod. It comes in rolls. We use Tuckahoe Turf Farms to supply the sod. It’s definitely labor intensive and we didn’t get any action shots while installing. Here are some photos of the yard when it was complete.

A healthy watering and fertilizer program will keep this lawn plush and green for years to come.
